What is heavy driver supply, and how does it differ from renting a truck?
Heavy driver supply is the provision of qualified drivers to operate heavy trucks and trailers, whether on our vehicles or on the client’s own fleet. It sits between full transport (truck plus driver plus job) and bare equipment hire (a trailer with no operator).
Some clients own trucks but are short of licensed, site-cleared drivers; others want a complete unit — driver and vehicle together — for a project or a monthly term. We cover both. When you hire a Decent Way unit with a driver, fuel, maintenance, insurance and the operator’s clearances travel with it. When you need drivers for your own rigs, we supply the manpower and keep the licensing and CICPA paperwork current.

Which UAE heavy licence class matches which vehicle?
In the UAE, a driver’s licence class is tied to the type and size of vehicle they may operate, and heavy rigs need a heavy-vehicle entitlement — a standard light licence does not cover them. A heavy truck (rigid) and an articulated trailer combination call for different entitlements, so the licence has to match the actual rig, not just “a big truck”.
The practical point for buyers: matching driver to rig is our job, not yours. Every Decent Way driver is licensed for the class of vehicle they are assigned, whether that is a 40–60 ft flatbed prime mover or a 3- or 4-axle lowbed combination. We keep licences and heavy-vehicle certification current so the crew is legally correct for the equipment on the day.

What is CICPA clearance, and why does it matter for oil & gas sites?
CICPA clearance is the security pass that allows a driver and vehicle to enter Critical Infrastructure and Coastal Protection Authority controlled areas — which include most ADNOC and oil & gas facilities in Abu Dhabi. It is separate from the driving licence: a fully licensed driver still cannot enter a restricted field site without a valid CICPA pass for that area.
Because our drivers and vehicles are already CICPA-cleared, site access is built in rather than a last-minute scramble. That matters for fields deep in Al Dhafra — Habshan at 150 km, ASAB at 210 km, Bu Hasa at 190 km or Ruwais at 240 km from our Musaffah base — where sending an uncleared driver simply means being turned away at the gate.

What certifications and training do your heavy drivers hold?
Beyond the licence and CICPA pass, our heavy drivers are ADSD-certified for heavy vehicles and trained to ADNOC HSE standards for conduct on and around operational sites. Where a load is classified as dangerous goods, the assigned driver is ADR-trained and the movement follows Civil Defence hazmat rules, with the truck placarded and routed accordingly.
Every vehicle also carries IVMS GPS, so speed, hours and route are monitored — a discipline clients increasingly expect on oil & gas contracts. Fire-safety fittings such as a Chalwyn valve on diesel engines are specified where a site requires them. The result is a crew that is not just legally licensed but site-ready for ADNOC-approved work.

Is CICPA clearance the same as a driving licence?
No. A driving licence permits a person to operate a class of vehicle; a CICPA pass permits a driver and vehicle to enter Critical Infrastructure and Coastal Protection Authority controlled areas, such as ADNOC oil & gas sites. A driver needs both to work at a restricted field. Our drivers hold both, kept current.
Do your drivers handle dangerous goods?
